If you are heading out to «Vegas» at some point this year and are thinking about hitting a casino, or even one close to home. It’s important you understand the basics of casinos, especially when playing the slot machines. 80% of first timers in casinos tend to go straight on to the slot machines as they seem the easiest and least intimidating options comparing to games like blackjack or roulette. However, many do so without even knowing what it is they are playing. Below are some key pointers that you may find useful for when first walking into Caesars Palace!
1. Choose your machine
Before playing it is important to point out that there is no point in gambling with money you need. You should accept that every coin you put into the slot machine is no longer yours and if you win big, that’s an exceptional piece of luck. Saying that you can choose how much money you’re willing to spend on a machine. On video slots, you will start with two buttons; the first for the number of paylines (lines and variations in which you could win) you want to activate; and the second button for the number of credits wagered per line. The most common set up will tend to have nine paylines on which you can bet 1 to 5 credits. When you are more confident you may find a clot machine with upto 50 pay lines, paying up to 25 credits per line! Paylines do not have to be straight lines, they can run in V’s and zigzags, check the rules of the machine if you are unsure.
2. Understand your payouts
A standard reel machine will have 3 payout lines (lines where the symbols actually stop). The symbols that appear when the payout line has stopped spinning determine whether you win anything. You may have seen these kinds of symbols before: cherries, gold bars, lucky 7s. You need to get an understanding about what combinations work, typically it will be matching lines (i. e. 3 cherries lined up) remember the more paylines you have the higher the chance you will get a combination. What will trip you up will be the blanks that the game throw in. Remember, do not get frustrated, the money is already gone!
3. Play for the bonus rounds
Most modern video machines will have bonus features for you to aim for. When you land so many designated symbols you get directed to the bonus game. This is where you can rack up the money, and in fact most gamblers in a tend to play until they get to play a bonus game, regardless of how much they win on the paylines. This is a good idea, as once your machine has paid out big, that’s usually a good time to leave!
